The Day After (A5)
“The Day After” is a 32 page A5 risograph printed comic book.
This is the second chapter from my time in the public hospital system while being treated for a large and aggressive bone tumour growing from my pelvis in very close proximity to my lower spine.
It wasn’t long after my 25th birthday in October. I had done around 10 weeks of chemo that year, then an intense round of radiation in order to try and shrink the tumour down in size. The surgery went for 17hrs with two surgeons taking turns. They had more than 50 litres of blood on standby due to expected blood loss. Join with me in the fever dream that was the long recovery from this life saving surgery.
Printed and published by Tree Paper Gallery. Written and illustrated by Eddy Sara.
